On-Site Training at Your Workplace

What on-site training is

Instead of sending people to Mokopane one or two at a time, we send a facilitator and assessor to you and certify the group where they work. The course content, the assessment and the certificate are the same as they would be at our centre. What changes is that the training happens on your machines, in your yard, around the hazards your people actually face.

That is usually the better option for a workforce. An operator assessed on the machine they will run every day is a more useful certificate than one earned on ours, and a first aid or fire scenario built around your site is more use than a generic one.

Who it suits

• Mines and plants certifying operators, riggers and safety appointments across a shift pattern.
• Construction companies putting a crew through trade and safety certificates before a contract starts.
• Municipalities certifying plant operators and general workers.
• Any employer that has to appoint first aiders and fire fighters. Under the General Safety Regulations a workplace with more than ten employees needs a certified first aider for every group of up to 50, so this is not only a mining question.

How it works

1. Tell us three things: how many people need certifying, which courses, and where they are based.
2. We quote. Group size and travel are worked out per booking rather than taken off a price list, because both depend on the answers above.
3. We train on your site, on your equipment, to the same standard and assessment as our centre.
4. Certificates are issued and loaded to the Fundza portal, where your team can download them and a company account can check who holds what.

What to know before you ask

There is no published minimum group size and no published travel rate. Both are quoted per booking, and the only way to get a real number is to tell us the three things above. We would rather quote accurately than publish a figure that turns out not to apply to you.

Course fees themselves are published in full, and they include VAT — see the fee list. An on-site quote is built from those fees plus the cost of bringing training to you.

Which courses can be run on site

All of them. The most commonly booked on site are the safety appointments and the machine tickets:

• First aid and fire fighting — the two appointments almost every workplace has to fill.
• Safety courses including working at height and SHE representative.
• Earth moving machinery and lifting machinery operator certificates.
• Construction trades and skills programmes.
